Not realizing that his drinking mate is in love with him, Onoda tells Deguchi about his feelings for Shima. Deguchi considers this as a chance for taking an action, but then he thinks that calculating things is not a dependable way of making him fall for himself. 

Onoda is a straight guy and he is three years younger than Harumi Deguchi. They have nothing in common and at first, they were just friends. But that’s not enough for Harumi- he wants more from Ryo and he realizes that he has fallen in love with him. Feeling anxious and emotional, he wants to tell him how he feels… but he can’t. Fearing rejection, he’d rather be just friends and not ruin what he has with him. Here- we have a story of pain, sorrow and happiness of being in love.

Deguchi visit Onoda's home thinking that he could comfort him but after asking him out and hearing his answer, he suddenly leaves there. Onoda, taking it as a joke, doesn't understand why Deguchi is acting this way but after realizing that he indeed was serious about going out, Onoda demands some time to consider his offer.
