Haru is a fellow highschool student and a friend of Akiyuki's, and fairly skilled in martial arts. She is the first to encounter Xam'd on the destroyed bus, and after noticing that Xam'd is not an enemy, attacks the guard who tries to shoot him. She then follows Xam'd after he is attacked by a newly arrived Humanform enemy, and screams at him to stop fighting, subconciously calling him Akiyuki and realising who Xam'd's idendity is. However, it does little to stop him and she is eventually pulled in to the battle by Xam'd, who protects her whilst battling and eventually defeating the humanform. When Nakiami arrives to subdue the enraged Xam'd, Nakiami asks Haru several questions about Akiyuki and Xam'd, and renders Haru unconcious before she can ask any questions. Nakiami then takes Akiyuki away, leaving Haru to wonder what happened.

Sentan Island is a small island surrounded by the Yuden Sea. It exists in a state of dreamlike tranquility, cut off from the war between the Northern Government and the Southern Continent Free Zone. Our hero, Akiyuki Takehara, lives on Sentan Island along with his mother Fusa. He is currently separated from his father, the town doctor Ryuzo, but the bond between father and son remains. One day, after taking Ryuzo the lunch that Fusa has made for him as usual, Akiyuki arrives at school, where he is caught up in an explosion along with his friends, Haru and Furuichi. The explosion produces a mysterious light, which enters Akiyuki's arm, causing him excruciating pain. He's given no time to understand it, however, as the white-haired girl who rode on the bus with him guides him to a power unlike anything he's ever known.

An American voice actress, ADR director, and script writer affiliated with Funimation and Seraphim Digital/Sentai Filmworks.

Monica's father is from Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, and when she was young, her family would often visit there. She would translate for her younger brother some of the European Spanish-dubbed cartoons which included anime like Doraemon and Dragon Ball Z, often imitating the various characters. Monica studied ballet, tap, and jazz, but transitioned to musical theater when was 12. She studied acting through high school as well as college at the University of Houston. She's cited voice actor inspirations from The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Beavis and Butt-head. She was working on a theater show with Jason Douglas, who suggested she audition for ADV Films. Her first voice-over role was a walla in the 1999 dub of Martian Successor Nadesico.

The official website for BONES' Xam'd: Lost Memories science-fiction anime series announced that Kadokawa Shoten's Ace Assault magazine will publish a manga version of the anime. 
The anime follows the journey of an ordinary high schooler who is transformed into a giant creature named Xam'd. A mysterious red-haired woman named Nakiami helps to keep Xam'd's rampaging instincts in check. 
Ace Assault is a quarterly spinoff from Monthly Shonen Ace magazine, and the B&#333;nen no Xam'd: Junreisha no Compass manga will launch in Ace Assault's Winter issue on December 9. (Source: Anime News Network)
