The most mysterious of the Gung-Ho Guns. His portrayal in both the anime and manga are drastically different.    In the anime, Zazie uses the identity of a young boy named &quot;Beeb&quot; as a disguise. He can control sand-worms with a high-frequency device he wears on his head.    The anime never exactly gives a clear explanation as to what Zazie was. It can be theorized that Zazie was a malevolent entity that took control of the boy whenever it needed to, that he was in fact a much older man who only looked like a young boy, or that he was actually a child assassin driven to the brink of insanity by his association with the Guns.    In the manga...   ~!his body is controlled by a collective of group-minded insects. These insects are the original inhabitants of the planet Gunsmoke and have formed an alliance with Knives to see whether humans or Plants are better to co-exist with. The insects that form Zazie also seem to represent the planet&#039;s consciousness, as represented by the sandworms he can control as well (Zazie has been referred to as the &#039;leader of the sandworms&#039; by Knives). His body is destroyed by Hoppered for spying on him and Midvalley. Zazie later reappears in the body of a teenage girl. In Trigun Maximum 11 this body is destroyed as well after trying to implant an insect in Knives to control him. Zazie reappears one last time as an odd-looking man in disco-clothing in order to deliver his coin to Vash. It is revealed that these bodies are human, but are controlled by a small worm-like creature that lives inside it, similar to the one Zazie tried to implant in Knives. Vash the Stampede is a wanted man with a habit of turning entire towns into rubble. The price on his head is a fortune, and his path of destruction reaches across the arid wastelands of a desert planet. Unfortunately, most encounters with the spiky-haired gunslinger don't end well for the bounty hunters who catch up with him; someone almost always gets hurt - and it's never Vash. 
 
Oddly enough, for such an infamous fugitive, there's no proof that he's ever taken a life. In fact, he's a pacifist with a doughnut obsession who's more doofus than desperado. There's a whole lot more to him than his reputation lets on - Vash the Stampede definitely ain't your typical outlaw.

Vash does not clearly remember the destruction of July, and only wants "love and peace", as he puts it; though he is a gunfighter of inhuman skill, he uses his weapons only to save lives wherever he can. 
As the series progresses, more is gradually learned about Vash's mysterious history and the history of the human civilization on Gunsmoke, the desert planet the series is set on. The series is often humorous in tone, but at the same time it involves very serious character development and especially in later episodes it becomes quite emotionally intense. Vash is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who is almost as good a gunfighter as Vash himself, and later is targeted by a band of assassins known as the Gung-Ho Guns for reasons which are mysterious at first. 
Trigun evolves into a very serious discussion of the nature of morality, posing questions such as: What is the nature of morality? Can we judge different moral codes? If a person is forced to betray their moral code, does that betrayal invalidate that moral code, and can the person still try to live up to that moral code? Can the person find redemption from their wrongs, and if so, how?

Sequel season to TRIGUN STAMPEDE. 

It’s been two and a half years since the Lost JuLai tragedy, which laid waste to an entire city and engulfed the whole planet in chaos. Meryl, now a senior journalist, continues her search for Vash with her new younger sidekick, Milly, and runs into Wolfwood along the way. As plant robberies begin taking place once again, they sense Millions Knives’s organization conspiring behind the scenes. 

Meanwhile, Vash has taken the new name Eriks and is living in hiding in a backwater town when he gets an abrupt visit from Jessica, a young girl with an SOS from the third ship they call home. He thus decides to put an end to a long-standing feud in order to protect those dear to him. 

Just as the pieces of the story begin falling back together again, the planet receives a message from the far reaches of outer space: “We are a fleet of colony ships from Earth... Those who wish may accompany us to a new frontier.” The entire population rejoices at this news. However, as if to mock their celebration, the one-winged angel returns to wreak havoc and despair. Fates collide to forge a final conclusion for the panicked planet.
