Manatsu is an extremely energetic and motivated first year middle school student who moved from Minamino Island to Aozora City. She always acts before she thinks, and her motto is "I'll do what's important right now!". Her most precious item is the lipstick her mother gave her.

Cure Summer is Manatsu's Pretty Cure alias. Her catchphrase is "Tropica-Shine!" (トロピカってる～！)

Deep inside the Earth lies a magical place called the "Healing Garden", which cared for the planet for centuries and is been protected by animal-like fairies named "Healing Animals". However, the garden was attacked by the antagonistic group called Bjögens whose goal is to infect the garden and slowly poison the planet. In order to save the Healing Garden, Latte escaped to the human world alongside three "medical trainee" Healing Animals, on a mission to find three people who can partner with them. After they meet Nodoka, Chiyu and Hinata, Latte pleaded them to fight for the Healing Garden as they became Pretty Cures in order to fight against the threat of the Bjögens and protect all life on Earth and the Healing Garden. Fairouz was born to a Japanese mother and an Egyptian father. She was named after the Lebanese singer, Fairuz. She spent a few years of her elementary education in Cairo before returning to Japan. During her junior high school years, she became familiar with the manga series [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure](https://anilist.co/manga/31517/). Due to her growing interest in the series, she would join Skype reading sessions with other fans. Eventually, she was inspired to pursue a career in voice acting, but her parents initially disapproved of her plans. Instead, she would initially study at a graphic design vocational school before spending a year as a dental assistant. Once she was able to save enough money for tuition, she enrolled in a voice acting training school.

In 2019, she debuted as [Hibiki Sakura](https://anilist.co/character/132856/), the protagonist of the anime series [How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?](https://anilist.co/anime/107226/)

In a Twitter post on 31st December 2024 she announced her indefinite hiatus from voice acting due to health complications surrounding PTSD. On April 1st, she announced she would be returning from hiatus, and that she would be leaving Raccoon Dog for talent agency Mausu Promotion.
