A girl who lives with [Oshino Meme](https://anilist.co/character/22552/Meme-Oshino) in an abandoned building. She loves donuts from the Mister Donut chain. At the beginning of Hitagi Crab, she was renamed "Shinobu" by Meme, who suggested that the name Shinobu (忍), comprised of a heart (心) under a blade (刃), matched her original persona.

~!She appears to be an eight year old girl, but was originally a beautiful vampire who had lived for more than 500 years. After the events of Koyomi Vamp, she was left in a weakened condition with no powers or traces of her original personality, and therefore had to abandon her "Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade" name. Prior to being a vampire, she was a princess of unparalleled beauty. She was referred to as "Princess Beauty" or "Acerola" during this time, the latter being her original name. Eventually, she was turned into a vampire by Deathtopia Virtuoso Suicide-Master to save her from the curse of beauty.!~

That night, Araragi encounters the rumored vampire: she is Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, also known as the "iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded King of Apparitions." The stunningly beautiful vampire cries out for Koyomi to save her as she lies in a pool of her own blood, all four of her limbs cut off. Kiss-shot asks Araragi to give her his blood, and when he does, the next moment he awakes, Araragi finds himself reborn as her vampire kin. As Araragi struggles to accept his existence, Kiss-Shot whispers, "Welcome to the world of darkness..."

Kanbaru discovers the Devil is actually Rouka Numachi, a former rival who provides free advice to those who seek her out now that she can no longer play basketball due to a leg injury. As a collector of misfortune, Numachi enjoys relieving her clients' stress by giving them false hope. Though Kanbaru sees no real harm being done, she reprimands Rouka for lying and heads home, relieved she is not the cause of the rumors. But the next morning, when she finds that her left hand has reverted back to its original form, she may have a reason to worry after all.

Unlike ne’er-do-well former vampire Araragi, his two younger sisters Karen and Tsukihi, who attend a private junior high, are little balls of energy and charisma that their peers look up to. That the “ka” in Karen and “hi” in Tsukihi are both written with the character for “fire” isn’t the only reason they’ve come to be known as the Fire Sisters. Karen is the brawn and Tsukihi the brains of a vigilantism that the pair sees not merely as defending justice but as justice itself.
