This is a remake based on the TV anime version.
 
The ruler of the demon world Zenon gave the order to kill the humans. One of the four heavenly demons Amon however did not view humanity to be as weak as the others believed. This caused unease within the rest of the ranks and Amon escaped them before encountering a junior high student named Kei Kamishiro. The two made an agreement to work together by fusing together as the new identity Devilman.

Hordes of demons, once thought entombed forever in the underworld, have now returned to Earth. Evil and corruption begin to seep into our world, as demons seize human hosts. Mankind’s only hope for salvation is to use the demons’ power against them–and only a pure-hearted man like Fudo Akira can do so without losing his humanity. Once little more than a crybaby, Akira now wields the terrible power of a devil, yet holds the innocent soul of a man–Devilman!

Following an accident in the Himalayas, Akira Fudou's body has been taken over by none other than the fearsome demon, Devilman. However, upon living with Akira's relatives, Devilman has come to find himself rather fond of humanity - even if it means getting roughed up by his girlfriend, the Most Dangerous Miki Makimura for acting out, much to the Demon Lord Xenon's dismay. Wishing to kill the traitor, Xenon begins unleashing a series of cruel, grotesque demons unto Earth, and only Devilman stands between them and humanity's demise. Can the reluctant hero save his soul while keeping the city and his secret identity safe?
