Habanero-tan is the unofficial mascot of B&#333;kun Habanero, the habanero pepper-flavored snacks produced by Tohato. Habanero-tan and her companions with names like "Jalape&ntilde;o-san" are spices designed to look like cute young girls. They were created by Japanese fan artist Shigatake. Habanero-tan's popularity has led to various renditions (some of them risque) by other Japanese artists.<br><br>
The girls are sometimes depicted writhing cutely on a toilet after eating the spicy habanero-flavored chips, in accordance with the reputation of extremely hot food to "burn twice".<br><br>
